About Debre Tabor University: Today all the five faculties are promoted to a rank of colleges as their capacity has continuously grown since then. A new college(the college of medicine) was also established latter and has become one of the leading medical institution in the all over Ethiopia as its graduates are more proficient than graduates in other universities, given it works with a hybrid curriculum which is recommended to be a benchmark by the ministry of health, Ethiopia..
Debre Tabor University began its task of teaching with 628 students, 124 teaching staffs and 71 assistant personnel. Today, DTU reached at a capacity of accommodating 35,000 students in regular, weekend and summer programs. Currently, Debre Tabor University has about 1200 (one thousand two hundred teaching staffs) and nearly 800 (eight hundred administrative workers) .Debre Tabor University has been recognised by by world institutions like THE , QS etc and have collabarations all around world for research and quality enhancement.
Debre Tabor University (DTU), located in the historic town of Debre Tabor, Ethiopia, has established itself as one of the country's rapidly growing and academically dynamic institutions. Initially launched with a modest beginning of 628 students, 124 teaching staff, and 71 support personnel, the university has witnessed remarkable growth over the years. Today, DTU proudly serves over 35,000 students across various academic streams, including regular, weekend, and summer programs.
With a strong commitment to educational excellence and inclusive development, the university currently boasts more than 1,200 qualified teaching faculty and 800 administrative professionals. These figures reflect DTU’s capacity to deliver quality higher education across a wide spectrum of disciplines.
In its academic evolution, Debre Tabor University originally housed five faculties, all of which have now been elevated to full-fledged colleges due to their outstanding performance and continual development. Additionally, the establishment of the College of Medicine marks a significant milestone. This college stands out nationwide for adopting a hybrid curriculum endorsed by Ethiopia's Ministry of Health. It has set a benchmark in producing highly skilled medical professionals, with its graduates often outperforming their peers from other institutions.
